Pecan Bottom Park
6/17/2024
The Pecan Bottom is a property that was given to the City and has been designated as a park. Every year the City is asked to allow vendor parking for the Lavender Festival which lasts an extended weekend with vendor parking lasting about a week. As the park develops the City will stop allowing vendor parking in this location but the City Administrator made a decision with Council consent to mow the lot up to 25' from the creek (protect the riparian zone) and allow parking to provide vendors a space to park. As you know, the Lavender Festival brings in thousands of visitors to Blanco and is a boost to our community. The City supports both local businesses and recreation interests in this city. The City is currently reviewing our plans for Pecan Bottom consistent with previous Council resolution and intentions for development of the area as a park.
